WhatsApp for iPhone has got this cool new update.

You can now lock your WhatsApp on iPhone

The latest version of WhatsApp (2.19.31) on iOS allows you to lock it without the need for third-party protection apps. Setting up the privacy lock is quite easy too.

WhatsApp Messenger is a FREE messaging app available for iPhone and other smartphones. WhatsApp uses your phone’s Internet connection (4G/3G/2G/EDGE or Wi-Fi, as available) to let you message and call friends and family.

You can switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, calls, photos, videos, documents, and Voice Messages. You may want to prevent people from bumping into your personal messages without permission, fortunately the latest version (2.19.31) of WhatsApp for iOS can be locked. Here’s how to lock your WhatsApp on iPhone:

Step #1. Launch WhatsApp on your iPhone.

Step #2. Now, tap on Settings icon at the bottom right corner.

Step #3. Next, tap on Accounts.

Step #4. Next up, tap on Privacy.

Step #5. Up next, tap on Screen Lock

Step #6. Now, turn on the switch next to Require Face ID or Touch ID.

You can choose to set the app to require authentication immediately or after 1 minute, 15 minute or 1 hour. For better result, make sure Immediately is selected.

Going forward, whenever you open the messaging app, you will be asked to authenticate.

Conclusion

Some people have gotten in trouble due to their WhatsApp not being secure and have some private messages exposed. This new feature will be helpful to people who share sensitive messages on WhatsApp. I hope this feature makes it to Android so that WhatsApp users on the platform can stop relying on third-party apps or WhatsApp mods.

What do you think of this new update, should other messaging apps like Viber, Wechat, Telegram follow suit?
