You need internet settings on your Airtel, MTN or Zamtel phone to gain access to the web, whether you are using an iPhone or Android device. Your service provider usually sends internet settings to your phone the moment you insert a Sim card in your phone for the first time. However, this doesn’t happen all the time, and there may arise a need for you to visit your service provider store near you physically.

Your Android device will automatically pick up the required internet settings for Airtel Zambia, MTN Zambia or Zamtel – insert the SIM into your device, and you should be good to go.
If you need to set the APN internet settings for your device manually, insert the SIM into your device (usually under the battery or back cover) and follow the below steps.

Tap Apps
Tap Settings
Tap More Settings or Mobile Data or Mobile Networks
Tap Access Point names

Tap Add or New APN
Tap Name and enter ‘Any name of your choice.’
Tap APN and enter ‘internet’
Skip MCC
Skip MNC
Tap Authentication type and select ‘None.’
Tap APN Type and enter ‘default,supl’
Tap Bearer (if displayed) and select ‘unspecified.’

Tap More or Menu
Tap Save
Tap the back button
Tap the field next to the APN Connection you have just created

Tap the Home Button to return to your home screen.

To finalise the settings, Power your device fully off and switch it back on.

Your iPhone will automatically pick up the required internet settings for Airtel Zambia, MTN Zambia or Zamtel – insert the SIM into your device, and you should be good to go.

If you need to set up your iPhone manually, follow the below steps.

Tap Settings
Tap Mobile
Tap Mobile Data Network
Tap APN
Enter ‘internet’
Tap Mobile
Tap Settings
Tap the Home Button to return to your home screen.
To finalise the settings, Power your iPhone fully off and switch it back on.

Windows phone internet settings setup.

Windows phone internet settings

As several mobile manufacturers use Windows operating systems, there may be some slight differences with the exact steps mentioned below. To keep things simple, we’ve come up with the necessary steps required across most Windows devices to help get your mobile internet settings up and running.

Since the internet settings configuration is the same, these steps will work with all three network carriers; Airtel Zambia, MTN Zambia, and Zamtel.

Once you have inserted the SIM into your device
follow the below steps:

On the Start screen, slide your finger down the display screen starting from the top of your device.

Tap All Settings
Tap Network & Wireless
Tap Mobile+SIM
Tap Sim Settings
Tap Add Internet APN
Tap the APN field and Enter ‘internet’
Tap AuthenticationType and select ‘PAP.
Tap Save
Tap the Home Button to return to your home screen.
To finalise the settings, Power your device fully off and switch it back on.
